Issuing Store Credit Gift Cards -SOP
Purpose: When we are unable to refund original form of payment or we are assisting a customer who purchased in store or via 3rd party.

- Access to the Gift Cards section under Products
Time Per Action: 5 Minutes
1. Locate Gift Cards under the Products section of Shopify.
2. Select Issue Gift Card
3. Search the customer’s email in the Search Customers search bar.
If the customer’s email is not in the system, create a new customer in Shopify and add the First and Last name and the email. Once you have created them as a customer in Shopify, you’ll be able to locate them here.
4. Once you have located the customer’s email, add the customer, and edit the following:
- Value: Add the value of store credit you are issuing
- Notes: Include a note, for example, “Store Credit for Order XXXXXX – Your Initials” The notes added here are not shared with the customer.
5. Save the Gift Card
6. Copy the entire Gift Card Number along with the rest of the highlighted message.
7. Paste the Message in the timeline section of Shopify.
8. Paste the same message as a Private Note in Freshdesk.
