Locating expired Promo sale prices in Shopify SOP 

 

PURPOSE: How to search for an expired Promo product price in Shopify.   

If a promo has expired but you need to honor the sale price of a product, use the following steps to find the sale promo price.

Prices might vary from website to website due to currency, so this will help you find the sale price listed at the time of the promo for the correct website. We will be using orders placed while the promo was active as a reference.

1.    Log in to Shopify and under the Orders section, find More Filters.




 

2.    Under More Filters, select the Date section so you can enter a custom date range. 




 



 


3.    In the Custom Date Range, enter at least 3 days while the promo was active. Use the Promo Calendar Box file for reference. 


 In this example, the promo was still active and valid from 08/28/2021-08/31/2021. This will help you locate orders placed while the promo was active so you can check the sale price based on orders received during this time. 





 


In this example, 35D was purchased at $25 after the sale expired or due to a website/promo error.


4.    Copy the SKU and go back to the Shopify page with the date filter added to search the SKU. 





 



5.    Search the SKU in the orders section Shopify page with the date filter added

Hover your mouse over any of the order numbers and click the Ctrl button on your keyboard while clicking your mouse to open the order in a new tab. (This will help you avoid losing the filtered page) 




 



6.    The order you opened in a new tab should have the SKU you’ve searched for along with the sale price it was purchased at while the promo was still active/valid. 


In this example, 35D was on sale for $9, so we can honor a difference of $16 from the $25 price it was purchased. 



 


7.    If the order is Unfulfilled, and the order was placed on US, UK or EU websites, go ahead and log the price difference to be refunded in the Honored Promo and Shipping Fee Refunds Log



*Check for any codes a customer might have used, if the product was not a part of the sale price, you will see if there was a code used and what the product price was prior to any codes added. 

Honor the original price unless the customer also used a code in the recent order placed.
